Firefighters prepare Thanksgiving meal for fire victims

We love stories like this.

Firefighters of the Los Angeles Fire Department will be preparing Thanksgiving meals for some of the victims of the recent Sayer fire where about 500 mobile homes burned. The Fire Department has contacted residents of the mobile home park and thanks to members of Fire Station #27 some of them will be eating a warm meal today. Many residents have accepted the offer and up to 50 of them will be shuttled to the station from the Oakridge Mobile Home Park in Sylmar.

Thank you for the kind words. While our agency is all-too-rarely uttered in the same sentence as wildland firefighting, the UWI and its impact is certainly felt by Los Angeles residents and those who proudly serve them.

It is indeed our honor on this Thanksgiving Day to represent the Fire Service as a whole when hosting these displaced residents, as we make good on our commitment that they shall never walk alone.

Kindly accept our best wishes for a safe and joyous Holiday Season!

Fraternally Yours in Safety and Service,

Brian Humphrey

Brian-

Thank YOU, the firefighters from Station 27, and the other LAFD firefighters helping out with this Thanksgiving meal for the fire victims. We appreciate all of you and what you do for the community.

I hope you will have some pictures taken of the event.
