Chief Randy Poyndexter of the Kingfisher Fire Department said:
"They had a truck malfunction, the fire got into the tall grass and overtook the brush pumper".The fire started on Saturday, rekindled Sunday during 30-40 mph winds, and eventually burned 2,000 acres in Logan County.
KOCO has a video report about the incident.
We found it interesting that an Associated Press article distributed to their subscribers described this as a "wind-fueled blaze". When wind becomes a fuel, we're in deep trouble.
