Basin complex July 14

It is getting harder and harder to get information about the Basin complex, east of Big Sur. The update last evening on InciWeb had this:
  • The fire remained active today, with most activity observed in the Rocky Creek and Calaboose Creek areas.
  • The fire spotted over the containment line north of Chew's Ridge early Saturday morning. Heavy helicopters are being used as they work to contain the fire in that area.
  • Fire activity in the Rodeo Flats area has been light. Firefighters are holding and mopping up its perimeter.
  • Burnout operations will continue in the area east of Devil's Peak as weather conditions allow.
  • The fire continued toward Blue Rock Ridge and Carmel Springs River.
The satellites detected no large heat sources on the large slopover across the Rodeo Flats trail on the southeast side of the fire.
