InciWeb is only working intermittently again today. The site that is supposed to provide information about current wildland fires is least dependable when it is most needed. The agencies that operate this site should either fix it or shut it down. This has been going on for years. The organizations that are responsible for the web site are:
- U.S. Forest Service
- Bureau of Land Management
- Bureau of Indian Affairs
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
- National Park Service
- National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
- National Association of State Foresters
- U.S. Fire Administration

If you've noticed over the years inciweb has been at version 1.x until just recently. It only went to 2.x a couple weeks ago.
Also, the new BETA version (as well as previous versions) has nothing to do the performance issues and availability. It's an issue with the new USDA network and servers. From what I understand it's a new system that needs to be continually tweaked to accommodate inciweb's traffic demands.
Whatever the issue, inciweb's recent performance is 1000 times better than previous years.
